Between the bustling streets of Saratoga Springs, and the beautiful landscape of Lake George, is the quaint city of Glens Falls where I love to work. I began working from WorkSmart as a member in 2018. I presently serve as the Marketing Coordinator with a focus on Social Media Management.

Work-from-home life worked for some, but for most of us, it was a time of burnout and isolation. This summer, working from downtown Glens Falls has become my refreshing new normal.

Keeping an office downtown has meant new connections and a chance to hit the refresh button throughout my day. The variety of places to eat and shop after work means I get to support local businesses and invest in the growth of our city.

There’s always an opportunity to refresh

A break for entertainment and exercise? Sign me up!

I’ve found walking while listening to podcasts to be a great way to refresh physically and mentally. Of course, my favorite is WorkSmart’s Just Off Glen podcast. It’s a fun way to learn about our local leadership and business owners.

But if podcasts aren’t for you, check out Crandall Library’s digital selection of music and audiobooks. With your audio queued up, you can stroll through our flower lined sidewalks in City Park or “get your steps in” with a walk through the nearby neighborhoods.

When you spend the day doubling down on work, you deserve a pick-me-up. A warm golden latte with honey and spices from Juicin Jar is my go-to favorite. But if a sweet sip is more your style, try the caramel iced coffee at Kru Coffee. I guarantee you’ll find a favorite in downtown Glens Falls.

New connections are only a lunch break away!

When you're working in a busy city, it's natural to meet and network with other entrepreneurs and remote workers. The concentration of activity and energy downtown makes it easier to connect and build relationships.

Meeting someone new is the perfect way to spend a lunch break! Grab your favorite sushi rolls from Siam Thai Sushi or find farm-to-table lunch options at Park & Elm.

Whether you casually discuss business or catch up on the latest buzz, sit together at one of the new picnic tables or benches in City Park and soak up the sun. Who knows – you could meet your next big partner on your lunch break.

Working at WorkSmart in the heart of downtown Glens Falls reminds me that there’s greater opportunity. Glens Falls is growing, and the economic landscape is changing. We’re experiencing a vibrancy we’ve been seeking for years. A downtown office lets me be part of the excitement and contribute to it!
